We had a blast celebrating Halloween last Friday! Thank you to everyone who brought a treat to share with the class. We greatly appreciate it! Everyone looked awesome in their costume!
In reading, we are working on determining the main idea and detail and the author's purpose of a text, as well as asking questions while we read. Next week, we will be making inferences and predictions while reading. We are also learning about the different genre of books. In quarter 2, we will begin looking at nonfiction texts and exploring nonfiction text features.
In math, we started chapter 2 where we are focusing on 6,7, 8 multiplication facts. Our goal is to become fluent with all our multiplication and division facts! Practice, practice, practice!!
In writing, we finished up our personal narrative and celebrated our first publishing party. We are now writing about what we are thankful for. We will create our writing into a turkey to hang in the hall for all to see.
In Social Studies, we learned about the three different types of communities! We learned about natural resources found in communities and how the people of communities work together. We are doing a project to show all the communities we belong to. After, we will begin the Rock and Mineral Unit in science.
We celebrated our first warm fuzzy party for our excellent behavior! Everyone brought in unique and special show-n-tell to share with the class. We really enjoyed seeing everyone's thing! Thank you for sharing with the class! We hope to earn all our warm fuzzy's before Christmas to have another warm fuzzy party for our astounding behavior.
I look forward to seeing you at parent teacher conferences! : )
