As September comes to an end, we are busy in Third Grade learning many new concepts and getting into our normal routine.
In Daily 5, we are building our reading stamina, comprehension, and fluency by reading to self, reading to someone, listening to reading, doing word work, and working on writing. Also, we are meeting in our guided reading groups during this time. The students are working hard in their Reading Response Journal where we're are focusing on summarizing a story.
In Writing, students have began publishing their Personal Narrative story. Everyone has worked incredibly hard on their story, and I am so excited to read them all. We will be having a publishing party soon to share all our stories with the class.
In Math, we learned multiplication and division facts 2,5,9,10, and 3. We will continue to build our multiplication and division facts in this chapter.
As the leaves begin to change color and fall, third graders are busy watching their Wisconsin Fast Plant grow in Science class. We are learning about the life cycle of a plant, the parts of a flower, and we are researching honey bees. Students will be working in groups to research Honey Bees using the new Chrome Books.
Reminder parent teacher conferences are just around the corner. Midterms will be going on on Friday October 2 for any student receiving a C or lower in any subject. Also, We are look forwarding the Resch Center mass on October 21. October will be a fun filled month!
